WIKISPACES 101 - Intro


Four Quick Tips

  1. RIGHT mouseclick when opening up a links on these pages
    That will allow you to open them in NEW WINDOWS, so you don't lose your place in the old window
  2. TILE VERTICALLY
    Resize your windows side by side so you can follow the instruction in one window, but work in another - RIGHT CLICK on the taskbar (at the bottom of the screen) and choose TILE VERTICALLY. You can minimize any extra windows you'd like to hide, and repeat the process to "re-tile".

    Hold CTRL and spin your wheel mouse to zoom in and out of webpages to adjust their text size on the screen

Two Basic Uses

1. An Online Textbook

- Teacher(s) are the only ones permitted to post to the wiki
- For class notes, calendars, course outlines
    1. No Paper / No Photocopying
    2. Easy updates / modification / correction
    3. Remote access
    4. Available to parents

(note - this wikispace has been secured to "members only" for privacy purposes

- For summatives, student plans, shared results
    1. Timecoded
    2. Revertable
    3. Lockable

    • ie difficulty editing or deleting tables
      • Workaround is to enter "Text Editor"
    • Firefox v3 has trouble with bullet indents (But Firefox Portable v2 works great)
  • Redundancy with D2L
